Ali is a medical oncologist at Illawarra (Wollongong) and Shoalhaven (Nowra) area. He has extensive experience in treating different solid tumours including gastrointestinal tract tumors, breast cancers, lung cancers, genitourinary tumors, gynaecology cancers and brain tumors. Following completion of physician training in 2009, he worked in major comprehensive cancer centres in Melbourne including Olivia-Newton John cancer and wellness centre, Monash medical centre and St. Vincent’s before moving to NSW in 2013. Ali has been extensively involved in research and is currently the principal and co-investigator of multiple international clinical trials. His aim is to provide holistic approach and personalised therapy to cancer patients and their family in the region.
Ali has been involved in different multidisciplinary team meetings. He is a member of Medical Oncology Group of Australia (MOGA), American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO), Australasian Gastro-Intestinal Trials Group (AGITG), Australasian Lung cancer Trials Group (ALTG), Australia and New Zealand Breast Cancer Trials Group (ANZBCTG), Australia New Zealand Gynaecological Oncology Group (ANZGOG) and Cooperative trials Group for Neuro-Oncology (COGNO). Ali is a senior lecturer at University of Wollongong and enjoys teaching medical students and physician trainees.
